Vrijmibo – new style

Hey everyone!

Hope you all enjoyed the weekend. I certainly did as we had what felt like a mini-holiday last weekend in Sneek. We happily accepted the invitation from my sister-in-law to visit her and her family in their holiday home in Offingawier. And as you can see below, we had a lot of fun. I love being in and on the water!

Ok, let’s get back to the topic of this blog. The alternative Vrijmibo. For those of you that are not familiar with the Vrijmibo, let me explain what it is. The Vrijmibo is basically three Dutch words combined into one new word. Vrijdag (Friday) Middag (Afternoon) Borrel (drinking event) = Vrijmibo.

A great way for Dutch people to close the week by having some drinks with their colleagues!

Last Friday the Bambi team met at my parents’ place for a nice team event. One of our lead mentors in the acceleration program, Jacobien Kamp, facilitated a great team session in which we got to know each other better!

We did different “exercises” to introduce ourselves and discover if we could define a company purpose based on our individual motives for joining the company. We haven’t been able to finish this work in the evening, but Tamara and Jacobien will take this further and I’m sure we can shortly share what we came up with.

It was a very nice evening and I was positively surprised by the energy level and the amount of sharing that happened, even though we are together quite short and it had already been a long week. It is good to see how trust in a team can be built in a relatively short period of time. Even though I was exhausted at the end of the evening around 22:00, I felt really proud!

Oh yes, and I informed the rest of the team that I wasn’t planning on eating into their weekends like this that often. Maybe in a couple of weeks, we will go for the regular Vrijmibo instead 🙂

Have a great week!
